What's new in Orbit HR
Every Orbit HR release, in one place. New features, improvements and fixes for local-first HR and statutory payroll, leave, attendance and the EA form.
v0.4.07 August 2026
Pay types, proration and statutory completeness
Four milestones of work on the payroll core, for employers running real monthly runs.
- Daily and hourly pay types alongside monthly, each with its own rate.
- Salary proration for mid-month joiners and leavers, with four divisor modes.
- Unpaid leave now reaches payroll automatically, full day or half day, as its own column.
- Itemised earnings and deductions, where each pay item carries its own statutory treatment, so a reimbursement stays out of taxable income and an allowance can be EPF-able without being HRD-leviable.
- Voluntary EPF and i-Topup, CP38 directives, and additional PCB reliefs for SSPN, life insurance, lifestyle and medical.
- Borang E and C.P.8D annual employer return.
- One-screen payroll grid with an employer cost breakdown, bulk payslip download, and two new reports.
- The calendar is now an entry surface: click a day to record unpaid leave, rest day or public holiday work, and overtime.
Available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and for Windows.
v0.3.06 July 2026
Employee self-service and people ops
Opens Orbit HR up to your whole team, not just whoever runs payroll.
- Employee self-service: staff view their own payslips, EA form, leave balance and claims without going through HR.
- Performance reviews: review cycles, goals and ratings, with the history kept against each employee record.
- Engagement surveys: run pulse or anonymous surveys and read the results in-app.
- Whistleblowing channel: a confidential reporting route with restricted access for the handling officer.
Everything added here stays on your device, encrypted at rest, like the rest of the app.
v0.2.015 April 2026
The core HR and statutory payroll app
The first release Malaysian SMEs can run a full month on.
- Monthly payroll with EPF (Jadual Ketiga), SOCSO, EIS, PCB/MTD and the HRD Corp levy computed to the sen from dated rate tables.
- Statutory output: bilingual payslips, the year-end EA form, Borang A, 8A, CP39 and a bank salary file.
- Leave under the Employment Act 1955, with per-state public holidays.
- Attendance, shift rosters and overtime at Employment Act multipliers.
- Expense claims and HR letters.
Unlimited employees, no per-head fee, and it runs fully offline.
