How to hire a professional in Orbit Finance

Hire a Pro lists Malaysian professionals with indicative fees worked out from your own books, so you can decide when to stop doing it yourself. Read the role cards, check what an enquiry sends, and press Get matched. The screen only reads your accounts and posts nothing, so your Trial Balance stays unchanged.

What is the Hire a Pro module for?

This screen helps you decide when to stop doing accounting work yourself. It lists Bookkeeper, Auditor, Tax Agent, Company Secretary, Payroll Specialist and, only if you are SST registered, SST Consultant. Each card shows an indicative fee range based on your business data. It is not a quote, and it does not upload your ledger.

How do I read the role cards and fees?

  1. In the sidebar under Books, press Hire a Pro. You see six cards when SST is switched on and five when it is not.
  2. Read the price range and the unit, such as per month, per year, or per filing.
  3. Check the small line under the price to see the basis, like transaction volume or employee count.
  4. Treat every figure as a starting point, as the professional gives the final quote after seeing your books.

How do I send an enquiry to a professional?

  1. Press Get matched on the role you want. A panel shows the same range again, so you know what figure the enquiry carries.
  2. Fill in Your name, as the app only knows your company name.
  3. Check Your email and Phone, which are filled from your business profile in Settings if saved there.
  4. Use the Anything else box for key facts, such as when your financial year ends. It holds up to 2000 characters.
  5. Read and tick the consent line. No exact figures leave your device, only four coarse bands (revenue, transactions per month, employees and assets), plus your name, email, phone, company name and SSM number.
  6. Press Send enquiry. The app posts it to Orbit and shows a confirmation.

How do I prepare my books before contacting a pro?

  1. Open Audit Prep, press Re-run review, and fix all Must fix items.
  2. Read the Control reconciliation in Reports to clear unmatched invoices and bills.
  3. Reconcile your bank to ensure cash figures tie to statements.
  4. Generate the Financial Statements Pack PDF for the year to attach to your email.
  5. Make sure your SSM registration number and business profile are complete in Settings, your directors are recorded, and your fiscal year is set correctly in Year-End Close.

How do I decide which professional I need?

  1. Match the work to the role, such as a bookkeeper for recording or an auditor for opinions.
  2. Consider a bookkeeper if you have over 150 transactions a month or are behind on books.
  3. Hire a payroll specialist when you hire your first person to handle EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and PCB.
  4. Engage a tax agent before your first Form C, which is due seven months after year end.
  5. Ask a company secretary or tax agent if your company legally requires an audit.

What this does to your books

This screen reads your accounts and never writes to them. It calls the same Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet the reports use, counts your transactions for the last ninety days, and asks the payroll module how many employees you have. No debit, no credit, no row added anywhere.

Questions, answered

Does Hire a Pro send my full accounting data?

No. Pressing Get matched does not upload your ledger, customers or transactions. It sends your name, email, phone, company name, SSM number, the fee range shown and four coarse bands, such as a revenue band of RM500k-1M rather than your actual revenue. That is enough to identify your business.

Are the prices on the cards final quotes?

No, the ranges are indicative Malaysian market rates based on general facts about your business. They are not quotes. The professional gives the final quote after they have seen your actual books and assessed the work required.

Should I hire an auditor to fix messy books?

No. An auditor who prepared the accounts cannot then give an independent opinion on them. If your books are a mess, hire a bookkeeper first to clean them up, and an auditor second if your company must be audited.
