Getting started
Set up Orbit Finance in a few minutes
Thanks for your purchase. Follow these steps to install Orbit Finance, activate your license, and bring your books across. Everything stays on your device — local-first, by design.

Download for your platform
Use the download link from your purchase email — macOS and Windows are available now. Android is coming soon; we’ll email you when it’s ready.

Install the app
Orbit Finance is safe but not code-signed yet, so each OS shows a one-time prompt. The full step-by-step (with screenshots of the exact buttons) is on the Downloads page. In short:
- macOS: open the
.dmg, drag Orbit Financeto Applications, then if it’s blocked go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. - Windows: run the
.exe; if SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway. - Android (when available): enable “Install unknown apps”, then open the
.apk.

Paste your license key
On first launch, Orbit Finance asks for your license key. Copy it from your purchase email and paste it in. Your key is tied to your email and works on up to two of your devices — no internet connection is needed to activate.

Complete the setup wizard
The wizard walks you through your company details, currency, financial year, and whether you run a service or retail business — so the app and your statements are tailored from day one. You can change any of this later in Settings.

Import your previous data
Already keep books elsewhere? Go to Settings → Data to import your existing records and pick up where you left off. Everything stays on your device.
