How to prepare a Financial Analysis report

Financial Analysis checks the Monthly Management Report (MMR) against the ledger and schedules. You confirm one ratio method, compare periods and the approved business budget, then save a report that cannot be changed for management review. It reads your statements and posts nothing to the books.

What is Financial Analysis for?

This module checks the Monthly Management Report (MMR) against the ledger and schedules. It confirms one ratio method, compares periods and the approved business budget, then saves a fixed report that cannot be edited, ready for management review.

How do I prepare the analysis?

  1. Under Reports, open Financial Analysis.
  2. Open Method, choose Confirm method, then select the period, gearing formula and balance basis.
  3. Open Overview to review the ratios, cash-flow reconciliation, trends and budget variances.
  4. Open Report, choose Prepare report, identify the preparer and confirm all four MMR checks.
  5. Tap the prepared report row to export its PDF and record the management decision.

What is a ratio method?

The ratio method is the selected ratios, formula variant, balance basis and period fixed before the analysis is run.

What mistakes should I avoid?

Do not prepare a report before the ratio method is confirmed. Also, do not treat a percentage as a ringgit figure.
