What is the Timesheet module for?
It records hours worked against projects to support job costing and billing. It tracks billable time so you can invoice earned work. It does not post to your accounts, preventing double counting of wages already recorded in Payroll.
How do I log a single hour?
- Check the date in the top row, changing it only if catching up.
- Pick the project, which remembers the last one used.
- Type the hours, ensuring the entry is not more than 24 hours.
- Type a description written for the customer to read.
- Tick Billable if the customer is paying for this hour.
- Press Log or Enter to save the entry.
How do I bulk log a week of work?
- Press Bulk log at the top right of the screen.
- Fill the grid, using Add row or Duplicate row for multiple entries.
- Optionally press Import CSV to load a file with Date, Project, Hours, Description, and Billable columns.
- Review the import message for any rows that did not match a project.
- Press Save all to store the entries, noting that incomplete rows remain in the grid.
How do I review and fix my entries?
- View the week grouped by day, with daily hours and a Week total at the bottom.
- Use the arrows beside the date range to step to the previous or next week.
- Check the value beside billable entries, which shows hours times the saved charge rate.
- Press the delete action on a wrong row, then log it again correctly, as there is no edit function.
- Note that entries with a Billed tag are greyed out and cannot be deleted.
How do I manage charge rates and billing?
- If an orange warning appears, go to Projects and set the Default charge rate per hour.
- Understand that the rate is copied onto each entry when logged and does not update automatically.
- Delete and re-log any entries saved at zero if the rate was missing at the time.
- Go to the Projects screen, open the project, and press Bill unbilled time to invoice the hours.
