How to view your 30 day cash forecast

Bills & Income is a read-only diary of your scheduled money. It lists recurring expenses and invoices on a 30 day list and calendar. Use it to check if more money is coming in than going out. You cannot create items here. You must manage them on their owning screens.

What is this module for?

This module answers one question: between now and the end of the month, is more money coming in than going out? It is a cash question, not a profit question. It projects only what you have already scheduled. It does not know about one-off purchases like petrol. Treat the Net figure as the floor of your planning, not the whole picture.

How do I read the next 30 days?

  1. Look at the three cards across the top: Income, Expenses, and Net.
  2. Check the Reminders list for Past and Next groups.
  3. Read each row left to right: name, party, distance, badge, and amount.
  4. Note that amounts coming in are shown in green.
  5. Understand the badges: Past due in red means the date passed and the item was never generated, and Paid in green means the app has already generated that occurrence.

How do I check a specific day?

  1. Find the Calendar card on the right.
  2. Use the arrows in the month stepper to move to the desired month.
  3. Look for a small dot under a date to see if items land that day.
  4. Hover over or click the date to see the list of items.
  5. Click the same date again to unpin it.

How do I view an item's history?

  1. Click any row in the Reminders list to open the series window.
  2. Read the History chart showing the last six months of actual data.
  3. Compare the Total in last 6 months with the average line.
  4. Read the Coming up section for the next six occurrences.
  5. Close the window, as nothing is changed by viewing it.

How do I clear past due items?

  1. Look at the All past due card under the calendar.
  2. Decide if the item belongs to Recurring Expenses or Recurring Invoices.
  3. Go to that screen and press its generate button or fix the Next date.
  4. Return to Bills & Income and reload to see the badge change to Paid.

What this does to your books

Reading this screen posts nothing. Bills & Income never writes to your books; it only reads your recurring templates and does arithmetic on them. The entries are made on the owning screens: generating a recurring expense records a money-out row against the expense category and Cash & Bank (1000), and a recurring invoice follows the normal invoice path, which posts to Trade Debtors and Sales automatically for real companies but defaults to a manual debtor entry for practice companies.

Questions, answered

Why is there no New button on Bills & Income?

This screen owns no data. It is a read-only view of templates you saved elsewhere. You must create items on Recurring Expenses or Recurring Invoices for them to appear here.

Does the Paid badge mean the bank received the money?

No. Paid only means the app has already generated that occurrence. It does not mean the bank has confirmed anything. Only Cash In & Out and your bank statement can confirm actual payment.

Why is my Net figure higher than my actual bank balance?

The Net figure counts only scheduled items. It ignores one-off purchases like groceries or petrol. Your real month is always tighter than this figure suggests because it is a floor, not a complete budget.
